How do I configure the taxes for my location?
The Blackbird team will pre-configure all taxes for your location prior to launching on the platform. If you have specific taxes you need, or would like to have the option to apply to your products/orders, please reach out to Support.
Once all necessary taxes have been configured for your location, you will be able to dictate which product categories and subcategories the taxes can apply to. For example, if your dispensary is in Clark County in the State of Nevada, the necessary taxes to be configured for your are (1) NV Clark County Sales Tax and (2) NV Recreational Retail Excise Tax. Once these have been configured, you are able to apply those taxes to all necessary product categories and subcategories.
How do I apply taxes to specific product categories and subcategories?
To apply taxes to specific product categories and subcategories, navigate to your Manage Categories Block. Here, you will see your product categories (left sidebar) and all of the subcategories created within your categories.
In the example above, you will see that we have selected the Flower category. Within the Flower category, we have subcategories for Flower - Pre Pack, Flower - Bulk, and Flower - Shake.
Applying Taxes to Categories

In the example above, we have determined that both the NV Clark County Sales Tax and the NV Recreational Retail Excise Tax should apply to any products that fall within this category.
Applying Taxes to Subcategories
Once you have selected a specific category and then a subcategory, you will be able to choose which tax(es) you would like to have applied to that subcategory from the options provided.
