To access all outstanding cash balances that you may have due to another vendor, you must first navigate to the Shipping & Delivery Management Block and then select the Cash Ledger Block.
Your Cash Ledger Block will help you track and manage all outstanding cash balances due to your wholesale vendors. Managing your cash balances in MyBlackbird is easy and very similar to how you setup and run your product deliveries. Cash deliveries and the cash balances they are associated live within the Cash Ledger Block on your dashboard.
To help clarify, here are a few important definitions:
Cash Balance - The amount of cash owed when a product delivery is created.
Cash Delivery - A delivery of cash payment from the buyer to the seller that goes towards closing out the Cash Balance.
A Cash Balance can have multiple cash deliveries (like in the case where payment is made in increments over time), but a cash delivery can only be attached to one cash balance.
Cash Delivery Statuses
In our example below we have an outstanding cash balance that is currently listed as:
Pending - This is because the product delivery that this balance is connected to hasn’t been delivered to the customer (retailer) yet, meaning that cash isn’t yet owed to the seller (wholesaler).
Ready - Once a product delivery is completed, the cash balance can begin having cash deliveries requested for it.
To create a cash delivery for a cash balance, simply click on the blue Details link to take you to the balance's information page. From here, you can view the originating product delivery that created the cash balance.
Once a wholesaler has cash delivery, you’ll see it listed in your Delivery Tracking Block. From here, you can view it like any other delivery within MyBlackbird. You’ll have a tracking link, details page, and downloadable manifest.
Like product deliveries, cash deliveries will show up on your deliveries dashboard so that you can easily track all deliveries that Blackbird is transporting for you at any given time.
You can see that our new cash delivery is now listed underneath the original product delivery on our Deliveries dashboard.
